The first semester is quickly coming to a close, which means one thing: it is time to start planning holiday travel. Rely on local resources to simplify the process of traveling from USC to the airport so you can enjoy some time at home with your family and friends. Keep reading for some travel tips with which to start off the holiday season:
Although it might be tempting to bring all your dirty laundry home for the holidays, it is better to minimize the amount of luggage that you bring with you on your trip. If you can pack everything into a carry-on suitcase, you do not have to worry about lost luggage while you are already short on time. Pack light to simplify the travel process.
Be Smart About the Days You Choose to Travel
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after are two of the busiest travel days of the year so try to choose a better time to fly. Consider leaving after your last class on Tuesday to minimize traffic in the airport and on the airplane.
Take a Taxi to the Airport
Call a taxi service on the day of your flight to take you to the airport with minimal hassle. This door-to-door service makes it easier to travel to the terminal with all your luggage and get to the airport on time for your flight. With the help of a taxicab, you can easily get to your gate and be on your way home for Thanksgiving.

Most people think of Santa Monica as a popular Southern California vacation destination. Santa Monica also offers amazing business opportunities that help you further your career, though. Keep reading for some tips on planning a successful business meeting in the area.
Find the Right Location
Scout out a location before you set up your meeting so you can be sure to find a space that has everything you need to host your meeting. If you are meeting with only one or two business colleagues, you might want to have the meeting at a local restaurant or coffee shop. If you are planning a bigger meeting, though, it might behoove you to find a larger space.
Set Up Transportation
Show your go-getter attitude by planning transportation for your guests. Since it is just eight miles from LAX, Santa Monica is a great location for business meetings, especially if you have guests coming in from out of town. Organize taxicabs to pick up your guests from the airport to take them straight to the meeting location.
Communicate About the Meeting
Once all of the details are set, it is important to communicate with your business peers so they are on the same page about the meeting. Send out an email that clearly lists all of the information about the meeting location and time. If you have organized a taxi for meeting attendees, give them information about their transportation services.

Each year, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings together millions of people to do their part to end this debilitating disease for good. By raising awareness and money for research, this organization is working to beat Alzheimer’s, one step at a time. Keep reading to learn more about Los Angeles’ Walk for 2013:
Walk to Do Your Part
There are Walks to End Alzheimer’s happening throughout the country. Although you do not have to pay to register, it is up to you to do your own fundraising and make a contribution for the cause. With fundraising tools provided by the Alzheimer’s Association, it is easier than ever to encourage your friends, family, and coworkers to make a donation to help fight this disease.
Walk for Awareness
The point of these Alzheimer’s walks is to bring attention to the disease and the destruction it causes. By spreading the word about the effects of Alzheimer’s, the association hopes to inspire even more people to participate in the search for a cure.
Walk in the City of Angels
Los Angeles is hosting its own walk this year on November 3. The walk starts at Century Park, which is located at 2000 Avenue of the Stars. Registration begins at 7:00 in the morning. With opening ceremonies at 8:30 and the official start of the walk at 9:00, you might want to take a taxi cab to the park so you can reserve your spot. With your help, Alzheimer’s will hopefully soon be a thing of the past.
